Does Curate work offline?
Yes, fully, including tagging. Curate only needs a connection to activate or verify your license key.
Are my samples uploaded anywhere?
No. Your audio files and sample library stay on your computer at all times. Curate doesn't upload, access, or store your audio files on any server.
Do you track me?
The Curate app itself doesn't track anything. It only contacts my server once, to check your license key when you activate or verify it. This website uses Umami, a privacy-friendly, self-hosted, GDPR-compliant analytics tool, no cookies, and you can opt out anytime. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Tagging & Search
How does auto-tagging work?
Curate combines custom-trained ML models, acoustic analysis, and keyword matching. It takes in how a file actually sounds, its filename, and its folder path, and pieces it all together into a confident set of tags: instrument, genre, key & scale, BPM, and one-shot vs. loop.
Is this a general-purpose AI, or something built for sample libraries?
Built for this specifically, not a general-purpose AI wrapped around your files. The tagging and search models were trained specifically to recognize the instruments and genres Curate currently tags.
Is genre tagging exact?
Genre comes as several suggestions per sample rather than one fixed label. It's most useful for filtering out what doesn't fit (so you're not clicking through EDM results while digging for boom bap) rather than pinning down one exact style.
Can I edit tags manually?
Yes, any tag Curate assigns can be corrected or overridden.
What is semantic search?
Type what you're imagining, like "dark ambient pad" or "punchy 808", and Curate searches the audio itself for matching sounds, not just filenames or tags.
